I don't enjoy "New Year's Resolutions" because, let's be honest, if we were going to start doing things we would start doing them. But I was thinking about them last November and I took some time to reflect on the year behind and think about what I want 2024 to look like. Then I started making the changes that needed to be made - and I'm still working on them! I did use January 1 as a time to start keeping up on my blog posting. To see how that has gone please refer back to the first sentence of this paragraph. lol
Lots of things impacted that - one of the biggest was that our market location we'd just moved to informed us, just before our second weekend there that they were going to tear up the lot we were meeting on and we had to move.
So we did!
We really loved our 2nd new location because it was on the same block as our original weekend market - and we had a covered market!
Then last week we were told the covers in the lot were structurally unsound and we couldn't continue meeting there.
It's still being sorted and we will be back soon - but in the meantime I needed to do some markets so I had to get brave. I did Mimosa Sunday in Tempe with The Silver Fox Gallery yesterday and I really enjoyed it. It was smaller, but growing. And the other vendors were wonderful people. I made what I needed to get through the end of the month, so that was good!
What does any of this have to do with me posting consistently? On a practical note, it's hard to post about where you're going to be when you don't really know. On an emotional note - when I get bogged down with chaos around me I tend to hunker down emotionally and find equilibrium inside. So I haven't been posting as much, but I have been making a lot!
I'm super excited that this coming weekend I have scheduled 3 shows!
-Friday night is First Friday! I will be on Garfield, between 5th and 6th Street, and if you're downtown please come by and say hi!
-Saturday I will be down at The Churchill - I haven't done their market before but I'm free that day and I've heard good things. I'm looking forward to checking it out it's at
 901 N 1st St, Phoenix, AZ 85004 .
-Sunday I will be participating in the Central Farmer's Market Grand Opening!
One of the reasons I'm excited about being at the Farmer's Market is it's giving me the opportunity to feature some things I don't currently take to the Art Markets. I'm making aprons! I have made a few and have several more that are cut out and ready to sew. It's a design that I created in order to make aprons for my husband and I as we worked in our art spaces, and another for working in the kitchen. My favorite part is the pockets! I will try to post a picture later this week.
The other new item is crocheted washcloths and baskets. I love making these things - and using them. And the baskets . . . almost all of the baskets . . . are GLOW IN THE DARK!!!
I've also got Glow in the Dark designs on totes and I plan to charge everything on Friday so those things I'm already selling are glowing in all their glowry (giggle) when the sun goes down!
I've also been working hard on the website and I hope you are finding it much more user friendly. Please let me know - and I hope I will see you out enjoying this amazing weather sometime this weekend. Stop by!
